At first, I thought rhyme was just when words sound alike, but I learned that rhyme is the repition of the sound of the stressed vowel and any sounds that follow in words that are close together.
An example of a poem with end rhyme is below. The title is " Memories," and the author is Nana Morsel. The rhyme scheme is A-A and B-B.
On my poetry pretest, I was below grade-level. On my posttest, I hope that I will be above grade-level.

Imagery and Figurative Language
At first, I thought imagery was the things you see around you, but I learned that this was wrong. Actually, imagery is language that appeals to the five senses. I also learned about figurative language. I used to think figurative language was language in the shape of a a figure, but I learned that figurative language is the way words or phrases the describe one thing in terms of another and is not meant to be understood on a literal level. The three main types of figurative language are simile, metaphor, and personification.

Figurative Language Games
The best figurative language game I played tonight is the simile matching game, because it was the easiest. In order to play this game, I had to remember what a simile was . My final score on this game was that I dont have a clue in the world. If you want to play this game, go to this link http://www.learnenglish.org.uk/cet/flashactivities/similes.html (___/6)
Another enjoyable figurative language game is Metaphor Battleship, because it helped me understand metaphors better. In order to play this game, I had to go on the computer and look it up. My final score on this game was that it doesn't keep score. If you want to play this game, go to this link http://www.quia.com/ba/42131.html?AP_rand=163810965 (___/6)
My least favorite figurative language game is Fling the Teacher, because I got to make a teacher that looked like Ms. Priester. In order to play this game, I had to click the URL on my email address . My final score on this game was that the teacher got launched.
