" I Am " Poem
I am who I am.
I see Alfalfa with some hair issues.
I hear the rattling affect from the speaker's bass.
I smell like the body spray AXE.
I taste saliva with some Kool-aid mix.
I touch sharpened knives that help make your lunch.
I feel the burning sensation a long run.
I am who ever i say I am.
I see Alfalfa with some hair issues.
I hear the rattling affect from the speaker's bass.
I smell like the body spray AXE.
I taste saliva with some Kool-aid mix.
I touch sharpened knives that help make your lunch.
I feel the burning sensation a long run.

Baseball Season
Over the last three months I’ve had a interesting baseball season. We started with over fifteen players and ended with only nine. We called ourselves the Notorious Nine. Our season started really bad to ending decently. Many of the players had to play more than one position according to the needs of the team. Of course our most important positions that needed the most help were our pitching and our outfield also needed some work. All throughout our season we had never been able to say those where our strong spots. But for the last game we were actually able to say that one of our spots improved. Coach finally let me start pitching and he put Jason as our catcher. For my first inning it only lasted for about fifteen minutes, and for our second inning it lasted about twenty minutes. I struck out there smallest guy on their team and got an assist out to third and first base. Then I started to suck. We ended our game in the sixth inning with the score being 9 to 24 and our season record as 2-14.

Response to President Obama
“In a global economy where the most valuable skill you can sell is your knowledge, a good education is no longer just a pathway to opportunity – it is a prerequisite. It is our responsibility as lawmakers and as educators to make this system work. But it is the responsibility of every citizen to participate in it. So tonight, I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. . . . And dropping out of high school is no longer an option. It's not just quitting on yourself, it's quitting on your country – and this country needs and values the talents of every American. These education policies will open the doors of opportunity for our children. But it is up to us to ensure they walk through them. In the end, there is no program or policy that can substitute for a parent – a mother or father who will attend those parent/teacher conferences, or help with homework after dinner, or turn off the TV, put away the video games, and read to their child. I speak to you not just as a president, but as a father when I say that responsibility for our children's education must begin at home.”
This highly educated speech applies to my peers and me because we are all high school student. Obama states, "That dropping out is no longer an option." This quote out of his speech alone should inspire all students to think before they quit for what ever reason that they might have. Obama's not just making changes in the economy, but in the lives of the youth in America. It should be every students right to go to school and finish. For many that is, but what about those who don't have the money to send their kids to school? We can't place all of this on Obama's shoulders as Americans it should be our job to get the fullest out of life, succeeding in what ever we have to in order to complete our life. (word count=120+)

Poetry Sounds
At first, I thought rhyme was just when words sound alike, but I learned that rhyme is the repition of the sound of the stressed vowel and any sounds that follow in words that are close together.
An example of a poem with end rhyme is below. The title is " Memories," and the author is Nana Morsel. The rhyme scheme is A-A and B-B.
On my poetry pretest, I was below grade-level. On my posttest, I hope that I will be above grade-level.

Imagery and Figurative Language
At first, I thought imagery was the things you see around you, but I learned that this was wrong. Actually, imagery is language that appeals to the five senses. I also learned about figurative language. I used to think figurative language was language in the shape of a a figure, but I learned that figurative language is the way words or phrases the describe one thing in terms of another and is not meant to be understood on a literal level. The three main types of figurative language are simile, metaphor, and personification.

Figurative Language Games
The best figurative language game I played tonight is the simile matching game, because it was the easiest. In order to play this game, I had to remember what a simile was . My final score on this game was that I dont have a clue in the world. If you want to play this game, go to this link http://www.learnenglish.org.uk/cet/flashactivities/similes.html (___/6)
Another enjoyable figurative language game is Metaphor Battleship, because it helped me understand metaphors better. In order to play this game, I had to go on the computer and look it up. My final score on this game was that it doesn't keep score. If you want to play this game, go to this link http://www.quia.com/ba/42131.html?AP_rand=163810965 (___/6)
My least favorite figurative language game is Fling the Teacher, because I got to make a teacher that looked like Ms. Priester. In order to play this game, I had to click the URL on my email address . My final score on this game was that the teacher got launched. If you want to play this game, go to this link http://www.newton.k12.ks.us/tech/fling3.html (___/6)

Christmas Memory of 2008
My favorite Christmas memory of 2008 was watching my one year old sister open up gifts. This would be the first christmas that she can actually remember. Family gathered around her waiting to see her open the first gift. She picked it up and threw it across the room not really realizing that there was something inside. My mom went and picked it up for her starting theopening process for her. my baby sister then caught on that she's supposed to rip off the paper to see what's under it. She had received her first of three baby dolls of the day. This was my favorite christmas memory of the 2008
OO7- Quantum of Solace Movie Reveiw
The best movie that I saw this year was OO& Quantum of Solace. The lead actors in this film are Marc Forster, Mathieu Amalric, and many others that can not be found at the moment. This movie is rated PG-13. This movie is about a secret agent that is trying to stop a man from taking over a town's water supply to make him more powerful.
The best scene in this movie is when James Bond is fist fighting another man. James Bond enters this man's estate. Slade (the man) runs out of a closet with a knife and begins to flail at Bond. James then reverses the attack and throws him through the glass doors onto the balchany. Bond then stabs Slade in the neck and Bond wins the fight. He then takes one of Slade's shirts, cleans himself off, and walks downstairs.
I recommend this movie because if you enjoy a good action film this is the one to watch.
Most of my classmates would enjoy this movie because it has a little suspense that would give a few a chill. Ms. Priester would not enjoy this movie because I don't think that she's into action and suspense movies.

Gifts
According to Gifts.com, my gift personality is the all star athlete. I match this personality, because I love to play sports. One gift on the profile that I would really enjoy receiving is Personlized NFL Stadium Blankets, because I really enjoy supporting my Patriots. One suggested gift that I would not like to receive is Speed-Measuring Radar Guns, because I'm not a car, what would i need it for.
I also took the quiz to learn the gift personality of my teenage friend Mary. Three suggested gifts that I know this person would enjoy are Easy-to-Use Camcorders For Easy-to-Share Videos, Dakine Backpacks for Girls, and Hooded Sweatshirts for Sporty Girls.
Additionally, I took the quiz to learn the gift personality of my favorite adult Mrs. Guinan. Three suggested gifts that I know this person would enjoy are Massaging Foot Spas, Personalized Photo Lamps and Nightlights, and Fun Flannel Pajamas For Her.
If I had a million dollars, a gift that I would purchase for every student on campus is a bike, because most people on this campus are lazy.

Pet Finder
In eight years, I would like to adopt a guinea pig. I would use PetFinder to locate an adoptable pet, because it is a fast reliable site to help me find a animal to care for. If it was already eight years from now, I would select a pet named Griet , because this guinea pig needs a home and I've wanted a guinea pig all my life. For more information about this pet, click here http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=12516054
