Irony and Ambiguity

At first, I thought irony was something that you think is going to happen doesn't really happen, but I learned that this was wrong. Actually, irony is the difference between what the reader expects or what seems suitable and the reality of what happens. There are three types of irony: verbal, situational, and dramatic.
I also learned about ambiguity. I used to think ambiguity was a cliffhanger that makes you think about what happenes at the end, but I learned that ambiguity is apart of a text with multiple meaning in which something can be interpreted in a number of different ways.
On my irony and ambiguity pretest, I was below grade-level. On my posttest, I hope that I will be above grade-level.

Theme

At first, I thought theme was just a moral, but I learned that this was wrong. Actually, theme isthe authors message about life. Some themes are universal, which means that theyare to thought about in more than one way. Themes are can be found in all genres of literature; the five main genres of literature are poetry, biography, mystery, fantasy, and drama. Since I now understand theme, I can find the theme of my favorite movie. My favorite movie is Forest Gump. The theme of this movie is "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get until it happens." On my theme pretest, I was below grade-level. On my posttest, I hope that I will be at least above grade-level.

My Goals for the Second Quarter...

This quarter, I will work harder on my homework, in order to achieve this I'm going to start doing my homework more often.

This quarter, I will act more appropriately in Ms. Priesters class, in order to achieve this I need to focus better and ignore distractions.

This quarter, I will try to earn a 3.0 for all my classes, in order to achieve this I will need to stay on top of my work.
